Management and organization

In the Ministry of Defence there are three separate departments, Administration Unit and the Secretariat of the Security Committee and the Secretariat of the Advisory Board for Defence Information. Work in the departments is further divided between several units.

Reporting to the Permanent Secretary are the Secretariat of the Security Committee and the Administration Unit. In the Ministry of Defence there are three departments: the Defence Policy Department, the Administration Policy Department, and the Resource Policy Department. The Defence Policy Department includes the Defence Cooperation Unit, the National Defence Unit, and the Research Unit. The Secretariat of the Scientific Advisory Board for Defence operates under the Research Unit. The Secretariat of the Advisory Board of Defence Information is affiliated with the department. The Administration Policy Department comprises the Corporate Steering Unit, the Legal Unit, the Financial Unit, and the Security Unit. The Resource Policy Department comprises the Material Unit, the Personnel Unit, the Infrastructure and Environment Unit, and the Information Management Unit.
