Permanent Secretary Pulkkinen to South Korea and Japan

Permanent Secretary of Finland’s Ministry of Defence Esa Pulkkinen will pay a working visit to South Korea and Japan from 8 to 12 September 2025.

Permanent Secretary of Finland’s Ministry of Defence Esa Pulkkinen will pay a working visit to South Korea and Japan from 8 to 12 September 2025.

In South Korea, Permanent Secretary Pulkkinen will attend the Seoul Defence Dialogue, which is an international high-level conference on security. The Permanent Secretary will join a panel discussion on strengthening security through artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Pulkkinen will also meet with South Korea’s Vice Minister of National Defence Lee Doo-hee and representatives of South Korea’s defence industry.

From South Korea, Pulkkinen will travel to Japan, where he will meet with Japan’s State Minister for Defence Taro Honda and other representatives of the Japanese defence administration. They will discuss defence cooperation development, materiel cooperation and the current security situation.
