Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen has authorised the Defence Forces to conclude a framework agreement on ballistic plates and their development with C.P.E. Production Oy.

Additional plates are used in bullet proof vests. The agreement covers the need for ballistic plates in all Defence Forces branches for the next seven years.

- Ballistic plates are an essential part of the infantry's protective equipment, and by procuring personal protective equipment, we improve the chances of individual fighters to survive on the battlefield. At the same time, we are supporting domestic employment and expertise, says Minister Häkkänen.

The value of the framework agreement, without value added tax, is about EUR 56.0 million with a domestic employment effect of about 70 person-years.
