Minister of Defence Häkkänen to attend meeting of EU defence ministers

Finland’s Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will attend a meeting of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council in its defence configuration in Brussels on 12 May 2026.

The ministers will discuss EU support to Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and its implications for European defence and security, and the EU’s defence readiness and preparedness.  They will also receive a presentation on the outcomes of the updated comprehensive EU Threat Analysis.

The European Defence Agency (EDA) Steering Board will meet in the configuration of defence ministers before the Council meeting.
