Finland will deliver its 27th materiel assistance package to Ukraine. The President of the Republic decided on the matter on 31 January 2025 on the proposal of the Government.

Replacing the defence materiel capabilities in this package will cost Finland an estimated EUR 198 million. Finland has now delivered defence materiel to Ukraine to a total value of EUR 2.5 billion.

“We assembled this strong package of nearly EUR 200 million in materiel assistance in close cooperation with Ukraine. Our support is tailored to address Ukraine’s urgent defence needs on the front lines. We cannot lose our grip now. On the contrary, we must increase our support even further. My Nordic colleagues and I discussed this earlier this week, and we are on the same page. Our arms assistance to Ukraine upholds the right of existence of independent nations and protects the lives of Ukrainians,” said Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.

For operational reasons and to ensure that the delivery reaches its destination, more detailed information on the content of the assistance, manner of delivery or schedule will not be provided.

Both Ukraine’s needs and the resources of the Finnish Defence Forces have been taken into account when deciding on the assistance.

“The future development of European security is up to us Europeans. Right now, the most important element of this is to secure the independence and defence capability of Ukraine,” Minister Häkkänen said.
