Niina Hyrsky to continue as Director of Communications at Ministry of Defence
On 29 June 2023, the Government appointed Master of Social Sciences Niina Hyrsky as Director of Communications at the Ministry of Defence for a period of five years, starting on 1 September 2023.
Niina Hyrsky has served as Director of Communications at the Ministry of Defence since 2018. Before that, she has worked as Press and Culture Officer at the Embassy of Finland in Stockholm, Director of Communications at Handelsbanken and as a journalist at the Finnish broadcasting company YLE and Nelonen News.
Headed by the Director of Communications, the Media and Communications Unit at the Ministry of Defence is responsible for external and internal communications and provides expert support to the Ministry's management, experts and units. The Director of Communications participates in the work of the Ministry's management group, and develops and coordinates the principles of communications in the administrative branch.
