Minister of Defence Häkkänen to visit Brussels
Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will attend the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting for defence ministers in Brussels on 14 November 2023.
The meeting will focus on the EU’s military support to Ukraine, including the EUMAM Ukraine operation, as well as increasing the defence industry capacity, particularly as concerns the production of ammunition. The meeting will also discuss topical issues, such as critical infrastructure, the situation in the Middle East and development of the EU’s rapid response capability.
In connection with the defence minister meeting, the Steering Board of the European Defence Agency (EDA) will hold a ministerial meeting, which will address the plan to develop European defence capabilities. In connection with the meeting, the defence ministers will also issue a joint declaration on supporting the financing opportunities of the European defence industry.
