Nordic defence ministers will meet in Helsinki on 30 January 2025.
Nordic defence ministers will meet in Helsinki on 30 January 2025, hosted by Finland’s Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen. Finland chairs the Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFCO) in 2025. In the rotating system, Finland took over the chair from Denmark.
The second ministerial meeting of the year will discuss defence cooperation between Nordic countries and topical NATO matters, such as defence appropriations. Another topic will be support for Ukraine.
"We must prepare for increasing uncertainty around the world and to changes in the security situation in Europe. The importance of the Nordic Defence Cooperation is growing. We will reinforce the defence and security of supply in the Nordic countries and deepen our cooperation to strengthen NATO and the EU. We will together plan how we continue to support Ukraine," says Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
