Minister of Defence Savola to visit Kosovo
Minister of Defence Mikko Savola will make a working visit to Kosovo on 19-20 February 2023. During his visit, Minister Savola will meet Kosovo's Minister of Defence Armend Mehaji. The ministers will discuss the European security situation, support to Ukraine and Finland’s participation in NATO’s crisis management operation Kosovo Force (KFOR).
During his visit, Minister Savola will also meet Finnish soldiers serving in the KFOR operation. The purpose of the KFOR operation is to prevent hostilities and to ensure peace in multi-ethnic Kosovo through military presence. Finland has participated with approximately 7,300 personnel in the KFOR mission since 1999 when it was launched.
