Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö to NATO Minister of Defence meeting
The meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence will be organised at NATO Headquarters in Brussels on 8 to 9 November 2017.
Defence Minister Jussi Niinistö will participate, on 9 November, in a working session on the Resolute Support crisis management operation and also in a global coalition Defeat-ISIS meeting that will be organised in connection with the ministerial meeting. Minister Niinistö will also take part in the Train Advise Assist Command - N (TAAC - N) meeting led by Germany.
The current situation of the on-going Resolute Support operation in Afghanistan and its future will be addressed in the working session.
The future measures against ISIS will be discussed in the coalition meeting that has been convened by the United States Secretary of Defense. Finland has participated in the coalition since 2016 with a maximum of 100 soldiers.
