Estonia’s Minister of Defence Tsahkna to visit Finland

Estonia’s newly elected Minister of Defence Margus Tsahkna will come to Finland on an official visit on 18 January 2017. The visit will be hosted by the Finnish Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö.
 
The topics on the agenda include bilateral relations between the two countries, the security situation in the Baltic Sea region, materiel cooperation and international cooperation. An inspection of the guard of honour and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Hietaniemi cemetery are also included in Minister Tsahkna’s programme.

The framework agreement regarding defence cooperation between Finland and Estonia will be renewed during the visit. Representatives of the media are welcome to the House of the Estates to the official signing of the Framework Agreement at 1 p.m. on 18 January. Media representatives intending to attend the event are requested to register by 4 p.m. on 17 January by email to tiedotus@defmin.fi.
