Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö to Stockholm

Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö will be in Stockholm from 10 to 11 November 2015 where he will participate in three meetings: Nordic defence cooperation (Nordefco) meeting, a meeting for Nordic and Baltic defence ministers and the Northern Group meeting. Sweden acts as chair of Nordefco meetings in 2015.

Nordic defence ministers will discuss the security situation in neighbouring areas, long-term defence planning and current themes in Nordic defence cooperation.

Security issues in Northern Europe will be discussed in the Northern Group meeting. In addition to the Nordic countries and the Baltic states, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Poland and Germany are active in the Northern Group.

Developing defence cooperation both on regional and European level will be discussed in the Nordic-Baltic meeting and the Northern Group meeting.
