New Head of Department appointed at the Ministry of Defence

At the Government plenary session on 12 January 2012, M.Sc. (Eng.) Jukka Juusti was appointed to the post of Head of the Resource Policy Department at the Ministry of Defence from 1 March 2012 to 28 February 2019.

Jukka Matti Juusti, born in 1955, has acted as the Finnish Army Chief Engineer and in 2011 he took on the duties of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics and Armaments, at the Defence Command. Prior to this he acted as Armaments Director in the European Defence Agency in Brussels; Chief of Armaments at the Defence Command; Chief Engineer in the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) and Finnish Army Chief Engineer. He has also worked as the armaments expert at Finland’s Permanent Representation to the EU and NATO; Planning Engineer and Chief of Branch at the FDF Materiel Command HQ; Director of the Electronics Maintenance Centre; and as Chief of Office and Staff Engineer at the Defence Command. He completed his master’s degree at Helsinki University of Technology in 1979. In addition, he has studied in Great Britain.
