Minister Wallin met with Afghanistan’s Minister of National Defense
Minister of Defence Stefan Wallin is on a working visit in Kabul. Minister Wallin met today, on 7 March 2012, Mr Abdul Raheem Wardak who is Afghanistan’s Minister of National Defense. The ministers discussed, among other things, the development of the security situation in Afghanistan and the progress of the transfer of security responsibility to Afghan security forces.
Minister Wallin also met today General John R. Allen, Commander of the ISAF operation. They discussed the current security situation and the role of Nato and the ISAF community in Afghanistan after 2014.
Minister Wallin also had a meeting with Ambassador Simon Gass, Nato’s Senior Civilian Representative in Afghanistan. They discussed the monitoring and development of political-military objectives and international cooperation.
The visit of Minister Wallin was part of the inspection visit to the Finnish crisis-management troops in Mazar-e-Sharif.
