Minister of Defence Jyri Häkämies to attend meeting with Nordic and Baltic Ministers of Defence in Oslo

Minister of Defence Jyri Häkämies will participate in the Nordic and Baltic Defence Ministers' meeting in Oslo, on the 9th and 10th of November. The meeting is hosted by the Norwegian Minister of Defence, Grete Faremo.

The participating Ministers of Defence are to discuss UN resolution 1325, which stresses a gender-bound approach to conflict resolution and related activities, feasibility of enhancing Nordic defence industry as well as defence capability cooperation.

On Wednesday 10th of November, Minister Häkämies is to meet with Baltic and Nordic Defence Ministers for a joint meeting. Topics will include the NATO summit in Lisbon, Afghanistan?s future situation, as well as perspectives for enhanced Nordic-Baltic defence cooperation.
